HIVrights.org is an online database that incorporates innovative use of technology in an effort to strengthen and scale-up access to justice for HIV related human rights violations. With the ever increasing usage of internet in Kenya, HIVrights.org provides a practical approach to expanding availability and delivery of HIV related legal services.
This database provides a convenient resource for persons living with, affected as a result of and those at risk of acquiring HIV in need of legal services to find trained lawyers willing to provide these services within their locality.
The lawyers offering the services all have a specific interest in addressing legal and ethical issues relating to HIV and TB and most of them have undergone sensitization on the legal needs of PLHIV including key and affected populations.
The online page will also provide useful case law, publications and update information around HIV and the law for HIV-focused organizations including HIV and TB activists.
Through this initiative we hope to inspire and attract corporate volunteering and law firm pro bono support in.
